I painted this on a sweltering morning in San Miguel de Allende while my kids were kicking a soccer ball around nearby. I loved the little spouts poking out of the wall and the color of the blue building against the sky. As I worked, that shadow line kept sinking lower on the buildings and I rushed to get it in before it disappeared.
