I waited an entire year for daffodils to bloom again so I could make another attempt at this idea: my daughter gathering flowers in a mostly barren world. This year I photographed her in sunlight so her face could have more presence in the painting and I blended together references from late winter when there was still snow on the ground with early spring when the snow had melted, signifying birth and renewal, and hope.
