In this course, I’ll walk you through the steps I use to create complex narrative paintings. You’ll learn how to break free from relying on a single reference photo and invent powerful paintings using stories from your own life.

The process I teach was developed over years of painting as a self-taught artist. I often felt stuck using a single image as the basis for my work and I struggled to paintings that held meaning. Everything changed when I began blending multiple references—sketches, photographs, and historical influences— into a single intentional composition. This approach led to a huge leap in my practice, and it can do the same for you.

Through 10 hours of recorded lectures and demos, you’ll learn how to combine your ideas and references into a cohesive narrative painting.

We’ll start by building your inspiration library, then move on documenting your ideas, and finally composing your painting. By the end of this course you’ll have a digital collage and a gouache poster study that can serves as the foundation for a full-sized painting.

I believe everyone has a story to tell. With the right process, you can tell your stories through painting. Join me to unlock your own storytelling.
